Divine

I took this wonderful picture of my most precious creature, Divine. She is the most loveable Teddy Bear Hamster on the face of this whole Earth. I took her out of her cage (which she desperately wants out of all the time) to play with her for a while and she spent most of the time grooming herself within an inch of her tiny little life.
I need to get her a new cage. I have her in a Critter Trail cage right now and I’m not very happy with it. It has to be taped and held down so she doesn’t escape. I need a solid, nicely-designed cage for her. Maybe I’ll look around on e-bay. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Working at the Olive Garden has really not been the best experience of my life as I had originally hoped. I’m pretty sure that I shouldn’t go into details on the internet about why I don’t like it, so I’m going to skip through all that and get to the point. For the better first half of 2008, I was anxiously looking for new employment. I had a few short-lived stints at some really dumb jobs at the beginning of the year that I wasn’t too fond of. After I stormed out of those “dumb jobs” I went for months with absolutely no income at all. The job hunt took a lot longer than expected so, needless to say, I really don’t want a repeat. I’m trying desperately to look for a new job. I’m expediting the process you might say as I’ve adopted a brand-new policy “I will work anywhere as long as its for money.” You may be asking yourself, “If you’ll work anywhere for money, why won’t you work at the Olive Garden? They give you money, right?” Well, yes they do. The only problem is I can’t stand it and I want the fuck out. So I’m going with a any-job-will-do approach.
In other happy bright Joshua-world news, Roseanne (my beloved Oldsmobile) has finally lost her will to live. We got a call from Transmissions Plus today informing us that she was going to need a brand-new engine. Roger and Dad are sick to death of sinking money into the death trap so they are selling it to a mechanic for parts and then giving me the money to put towards the focus they just gave me. Poor Roseanne though. She’s been through so much and I will miss her dearly.
Design Find 06: GoMediaZine

This design zine is an amazing find. They feature a boat-load of vectors available for download as well as full royalty-free packages. Also featured are tips for designers, design mistakes, and a lot of content in reference to type. The site also features a very beautiful design which is a far cry from many supposed “design sites” that have a very poor and unpleasing design.

Tonight Robert and I decided to go to Target and get all of our school supplies. It is finally setting in that I’m finally going back to school! At last I’m going to finish up my Visual Communications degree and work on getting a degree in business! I’m super excited because I’m absolutely sick of working stupid ass peon jobs and I feel that I’m going to go through hundreds before I finally get my degree.
I’m already dreading going into work at the Olive Garden. People there aren’t all that friendly in general and I keep getting yelled at for being “too nice.” I didn’t know there was such a thing. I generally find it easier to be liked and do a good job when you are being respectful to your fellow employees and being polite to the management, but I guess that thinking is backwards. I don’t know how much longer I can handle that place to be completely honest, but I don’t want to ever be unemployed again, so I’ll have to find a new and improved job before I peace out of the O.G.

Recently, in my more flambouyant years, I have developed a severely homosexual love for man bags. Not quite sure where it started, but since my obsession has developed I have been in search of the perfect, most beautiful piece of man bag heaven. At last my search is over. I recently purchased the Fred Perry In-Flight Retro Bag from UrbanOutfitters.com and I am absolutely obsessed. It’s a great find and it is very reasonably priced. I’m thrilled we found each other.
Another really great find is a website that I stumbled upon not too long ago that offers $8.00 stylish prescription glasses. Zenni Optical is a great site where all you have to do is enter your prescription and *POOF* they send em too ya. They have other prices too not going over $40.00. My friend, Amy, recommended it to me and I’m currently waiting on my first pair to arrive.
It’s all Downhill After the 21-day Review
Author: Joshua
Oh lord. So it’s close to 9AM and I have been awake for an hour blinking off into space while trying to down as many cups of coffee as I can. To be completely honest the past couple of days has been a little intense. My car, the lovely Roseanne, has decided that she doesn’t like her transmission and is going to do whatever it takes to try and get a new one. She hates it so much that sometimes she refuses to start or accelerate. She has been in a complete “me me” phase and it’s starting to wear a hole in my patience and checking account. Oh the joys of car ownership.
In other news, I got my 21-day review at the Olive Garden yesterday. It went very well, to my surprise. I got a “good job” and a “keep up the good work” so I guess that means I’m “family” now and I have been acclaimated to serving three tables instead of two! Which brings me back to why I’m up so early. It seems that at the Olive Garden, once your 21-day review is complete, you not only get to serve three tables at once, but you also get to work doubles! Oh I just love it. I can’t wait to spend my entire day at the Olive Garden waiting on table after ungreatful table! How did I get so lucky?!
Music EPs Available For Download
Author: Joshua

I have put up two of my previous bands’ EPs (aka unfinished albums) up for free download in the music section of my site They were both recorded over the course of two years in Chicago with people that I never talk to anymore. They are classic nonetheless. GF2800s music video for “Sex is So Overrated” can be seen on the GF2800 myspace. Enjoy.
Lady GaGa on So You Think You Can Dance

Lady GaGa performed on So You Think You Can Dance tonight! I loved it. I absolutely hate the show, but Robert and suffered through it just to catch her performance. It was grueling watching all that “dancing,” but it was well worth it. She killed it.
Santogold Santogold Santogold

I am absolutely in love with Santogold. I have had her debut self-titled album on repeat ever since I first listened to it. It’s an artistic, beautiful, clever album filled with hooks and beats that add up to a delicious collection of music. Her style is very unique and urban. There isn’t a single song on the album that I skip through and that says a lot because I find most music these days to be disposable and unmemorable. It’s finally nice to see someone explode on to the music scene with a talent and a point of view that means something. I highly recommend buying her album as a whole rather than select songs because you will truley be missing out on what I think is the best album of the year so far.
I find the whole iTunes craze that has happened of late has caused the music industry to make albums filled with single-ready tunes that can be plucked off the music store song by song. I feel that this has made artists make each song radio-friendly and user-friendly and this causes a serious lack of artistry and experimentation. Often times I love the crazy offbeat tracks that artists put on their albums never expecting them to be singles and released to radio, but to be enjoyed by people who can truley appreciate out-of-the-box music. Santogold’s album is filled with this type of artistry and voice which makes me extremely appreciative to have her in the music scene.
R.I.P. Bennigans, You bitch
Author: Joshua

The company that has made the past 3 years of mine and Robert’s lives has been shut down effective immediately due to a corporate bankruptcy. The funny thing about this whole situation is that Robert quit the hell hole three days prior. Robert and I worked our asses off back in Indy at a stupid ass Bennigans that closed down on New Year’s Eve ‘07 without notice. Now, seven months later, the whole damn chain is down the shitter. I feel awful for the many servers and various employees who are out of a job because I’ve been in that exact situation months earlier with Bennigans. Good thing Robert got out of there before they decided to pull the plug. The universe secretly loves us.
